Best Crypto Trading Bots (2022)

If you’re looking for a crypto trading bot, there are a lot of options to check over.

I’ve put together in-depth reviews of some of the most popular ones out there. But in this post, I’ve summarized my thoughts on the best options that I tested out.

Let’s get to it.

Best Crypto Trading Bots

Coinrule – Best for Premade Bots

Supported ExchangesBinance, Binance.US, Binance Futures, BitPanda, Bitstamp. Bitmex, Coinbase Pro, Kraken, HitBTC, Liquid, and OKex.
DeFi CompatibleNo
Supported MarketsSpot and Futures
Price$29.99 – $449.99/month (Free version available)

If you want to enjoy the benefits of automated trading, but don’t feel comfortable designing your own trading strategies, then Coinrule may be the choice for you.

With over 180 premade trading templates to choose from, Coinrule offers ready-made bots for nearly every trading style. Examples of popular templates include: Multi-Time Frame Grid Scalping, Grid Trading, RSI-Based Rebalancing, and their ever-popular Buy The Dips bot.

What’s more, the platform supports TradingView signals and script integration, giving you even more premade options to choose from. These signals and scripts can be taken from Coinrule’s TradingView page or any other TradingView account you have access to.

For designing your own bots, Coinrule employs a unique ‘If-This-Then-That’ approach that lets you create some truly complex trading strategies.

An example of the type of condition you’d create on Coinrule would read as follows: If LUNA’s RSI rises above 73, then sell 50% of my LUNA.

These statements can be stacked into a series of events and can even incorporate TradingView signals. To top it off, Coinrule has a refreshingly low learning curve – meaning you don’t need to read through pages of documentation before you can use the service.

But Coinrule has two notable downsides; its lack of DeFi support and the fact that it doesn’t have its own backtesting function.

Still, Coinrule is a unique and powerful crypto trading service that both new and experienced traders will find useful.

Advantages

  • 180 premade trading bots to choose from.
  • Futures trading available.
  • Affordable entry-level plan.
  • TradingView script and signals integration.
  • Paper trading available.

Disadvantages

  • No DEX or wallet support.
  • TradingView integration not available with all plans.
  • Top-tier packages are expensive.
  • No native backtesting tool.

3Commas – Best for Options Trading

Supported ExchangesBinance, Binance Futures, Bitmex, Deribet, Bittrex, Bitfinex, ByBit, ByBit Futures, Gate.io, Gate.io Futures, Coinbase Pro, Gemini, Huobi, Gemini, Kraken, KuCoin, OKex, Poloniex
DeFi CompatibleYes (Tron wallet and 3commas crypto wallet)
Supported MarketsSpot, Futures, and Options
Price$14.50 – $49.50/month (Free version available)

For a quality automated trading platform that won’t break the bank, I recommend checking out 3Commas.

Launched in 2017, the service is compatible with over 20 popular exchanges and comes with a host of impressive features – my favorite being its Options bot.

The Options bot makes it easy to place puts and calls on Deribit, the largest Crypto-Options exchange in the world. However, only Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) pairs are currently available – which some traders may see as a serious limitation.

Besides Options trading bots, 3Commas lets you build DCA and Grid bots. DCA bots come in three degrees of complexity, starting with a click-and-go beginners option and ending with a highly customizable Advanced option with TradingView signals integration.

The platform offers several other handy tools, including paper trading trading/backtesting modules, a manual trading terminal, and a well-populated marketplace where you can buy premade bots and engage in copy trading.

Unfortunately, if you don’t use TradingView signals, your bots will be very limited in functionality, which is the major downfall of 3Commas.

Advantages

  • Can trade on the Spot, Futures, and Options market.
  • Compatible with Tron Wallet.
  • TradingView signals integration.
  • Good selection of pre-made bots in the marketplace.
  • Quality educational section with videos and articles.
  • 20+ exchanges supported.

Disadvantages

  • Some bots are very basic.
  • No TradingView integration with entry-level plans.
  • Only a handful of built-in technical indicators for bot building.

HaasOnline – Best for Advanced Traders

Supported ExchangesBinance, Binance Futures, Binance US, Bitfinex, Bitmex, BitPanda, Bittrex, ByBit, CEX.io, Coinbase Pro, Deribet, FTX, Gemini, HitBTC, Huobi, Ionomy, Kraken, Kraken Futures, OkCoin, OKex, Poloniex
DeFi CompatibleNo
Supported MarketsSpot, Futures, and Options
Price0.004 BTC – 0.009 BTC

If you’re already experienced with automated trading and want a platform that can put your expertise to work, few options are better suited for the task than HaasOnline.

Founded in 2014, the platform was launched with one goal in mind – to give hobby investors access to institution-grade trading bots with no-coding required.

That said, HaasOnline is by far the most complicated trading bot service on this list, and if you plan on taking advantage of its many features, be prepared to spend some time learning all it has to offer.

If you do, you’ll gain access to a level of customization not offered by most other automated trading platforms. Moreover, the service lets you build your own buy and sell signals using over 50 technical indicators.

While HaasOnline is made for building custom trading bots from scratch, it does offer 15 premade bots to choose from, including a C# script bot capable of running most C# trading scripts.

As far as downsides go, HaasOnline has several worth mentioning. For starters, access to the platform doesn’t come cheap, and an advanced plan can cost as much as 0.009 BTC. Furthermore, there’s no bot marketplace, and unless you use a C# script or TradingView integration, you won’t have access to social trading.

Still, given these drawbacks, HaasOnline is a quality automated trading platform well-suited for advanced-level traders.

Advantages

  • Highly customized buy/sell signals.
  • 15 premade bots available.
  • C# scripting support.
  • Proprietary scripting language for making custom indicators.
  • TradingView integration available.
  • Option and Futures trading supported.

Disadvantages

  • No DEX’s or wallets supported.
  • Difficult to use interface.
  • No manual trading station.
  • No marketplace or copy trading.

TradeSanta – Best for Beginners

Supported ExchangesBinance, Binance Futures, Binance US, ByBit, Okx, Coinbase Pro, HitBTC, Huobi, UpBit
DeFi CompatibleNo
Supported MarketsSpot and Futures
Price$15 – $35/month

TradeSanta is an easy-to-use crypto-trading platform designed to make automated trading as accessible as possible.

TradeSanta’s major selling point is how quickly you can get a bot up and running, which in most instances, can be done in under 10 minutes.

However, TradeSanta isn’t designed solely for beginners, and as you gain more experience, the platform has several tools and settings you can grow into – the most noteworthy being its TradingView integration.

This integration allows your bot to receive custom signals that can be as complicated – or as simple – as you like. Additionally, these signals aren’t limited to cryptocurrency price data and can include changes in the S&P 500, FTSE 100, and other traditional markets.

Unfortunately, the platform is only compatible with nine exchanges and no arbitrage bot is available.

These minor issues aside, TradeSanta is a well-reviewed trading tool and one I highly recommend to new traders looking for a place to start.

Advantages

  • Excellent for beginners.
  • TradingView signals integration.
  • Bots can trade both long and short strategies.
  • Charting software and Social trading included.
  • Quality mobile app.
  • Customer service agents available via Telegram.

Disadvantages

  • Only 9 supported exchanges.
  • No DEX or wallet support.
  • No arbitrate or scalping bots available.

Shrimpy.io – Best Exchange Support

Supported ExchangesBinance, Binance US, Bibox, Bitfinex, Bitmart, Bitstamp, Bittrex, Bittrex Gold, CEX.io, Coinbase Pro, FTX, FTX US, Gate.io, Gemini, HitBTC, Huobi, Kraken, KuCoin, OKex, Poloniex
DeFi CompatibleYes (Wallets and DEX trading)
Supported MarketsSpot
Price$19 – $299/month

If your digital assets are spread out over several exchanges and crypto wallets, then Shrimpy.io may be just what you need.

The platform functions as a portfolio management tool and comes compatible with over 20 popular exchanges and 13 wallet services. Once connected, you’ll be able to access your entire portfolio from the Shrimpy.io interface, meaning no more logging into each account separately.

Moreover, Shrimpy.io has a powerful portfolio rebalancing tool that automatically adjusts how much of your portfolio is allocated to each coin/token you hold.

When used properly, this tool can be very useful and isn’t something offered by most automated trading platforms. If you don’t feel comfortable building your own portfolio, or don’t know where to start, Shrimpy.io runs a robust marketplace where you can copy the rebalancing efforts of other, more experienced traders.

Of course, access to their expertise isn’t free and you can expect to pay a fee for the luxury.

Another feature that separates Shrimpy.io from other automated trading platforms is its DeFi support. Through Shrimpy.io, you can trade on decentralized exchanges using any of the 13 supported crypto wallets.

To do so, Shrimpy.io uses a DEX aggregator called 0x, which searches all available DEX’s and liquidity pools for the best possible price.

Unfortunately, many of the most popular wallet services – like TrustWallet, Atomic Wallet, and Coinbase Wallet – aren’t currently supported.

Furthermore, Shrimpy.io doesn’t offer traditional DCA, grid, or arbitrage bots, and the service is strongly focused on portfolio management and rebalancing – meaning it’s not the best option for high-frequency traders.

Advantages

  • Compatible with 20+ exchanges and 13 wallets.
  • DEX trading available.
  • Powerful portfolio rebalancing tool.
  • Affordable entry plan.
  • Social trading.
  • Powerful TradingView-powered trading terminal.

Disadvantages

  • No free account available.
  • Not all top crypto-wallets are supported.
  • No futures or options trading available.
  • Not suitable for high-frequency trading.

CryptoHopper – Best for Social Trading

Supported ExchangesBinance, Binance US, Bitvavo, Bittrex, Bitpanda, Bitfinex, Coinbase Pro, Crypto.com, EXMo, HitBTC, Huobi,KuCoin, Kraken, OKex, Poloniex
DeFi CompatibleNo
Supported MarketsSpot
Price$19 – $99/month

CryptoHopper is a complete automated trading platform that’s great for both beginner and advanced users.

The service has three types of automated trading bots to choose from: Autotraders, Market Makers, and Arbitrage bots. Regardless of which bot you choose, you’ll have to assign it a trading strategy, which you can create from scratch using the Strategy Designer tool.

The Strategy Designer provides access to over 130 technical indicators and candlestick patterns, from which custom buy and sell signals can be constructed. What’s more, the tool supports TradingView signals and strategies integration, making it even more powerful.

Cryptohopper has a popular social trading marketplace where you’ll find hundreds of strategies, signals, and complete bots for sale. When it comes to social trading, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better platform than CryptoHopper.

There’s also an impressive selection of Bear Market Tools available, which help protect your portfolio during market downswings. Examples of such tools include Dollar-Cost-Averaging and crypto-shorting bots.

All-in-all, CryptoHopper is a well-rounded trading platform that offers an extensive list of tools and features. What’s more, the platform is extremely easy to use, and a basic plan can be purchased for as little as $19/month.

Advantages

  • Powerful strategy designer tool.
  • Paper Trading and backtesting capabilities.
  • TradingView signals and strategies integration.
  • Crypto-shorting tool available.
  • Large social-trading marketplace.
  • Excellent mobile support.

Disadvantages

  • Customer service could be better.
  • No Futures or Options trading.
  • Card payments not accepted.
  • No DEX or crypto wallet support.

GunBot – Best for Day Trading

Supported ExchangesBinance, Binance US, ByBit, Bittrex, BitMex, Bitstamp, Beaxy, Coinbase Pro, CEX, Guthy, Huobi Global, Kraken, Kraken Futures, KuCoin, FTX, HitBTC, OKex, MEXC, TxBit, Poloniex, (100+ available with CCXY library)
DeFi CompatibleNo
Supported MarketsSpot and Futures
Price0.0075 BTC – 0.0175 BTC (lifetime license)

Like HaasOnline, GunBot is an automated trading tool that’s strongly geared toward advanced users. The platform allows for the building of highly complex trading strategies, providing a level of depth not offered by services like TradeSanta or Shrimpy.io.

Unfortunately, due to the level of complexity, the service isn’t very user-friendly, and learning how to master the platform will certainly take some time – even if GunBot claims otherwise.

That said, GunBot does have over 15 pre-assembled bots for users to enjoy, which can be deployed in just a few minutes. Still, if you’re inexperienced with automated trading tools, I don’t recommend starting your journey with GunBot.

Unlike the other options we’ve covered, GunBot isn’t a browser-based service, meaning you’ll have to download their trading terminal onto your computer or a VPS. While the spec requirements are fairly forgiving, the service is only compatible with 64-bit operating systems.

GunBot is very developer-friendly and lets you hard-code trading strategies using Javascript. You can even make hand-coded changes to buy/sell signals you’ve already made by going into developer mode.

While GunBot is noticeably more expensive than most other trading platforms, you get lifetime licenses, meaning no monthly payments. However, many of the more powerful features – like TradingView and Telegram signals integration – must be purchased as add-ons.

Some of these add-ons are great for high-frequency trading and are a big reason why GunBot is the platform of preference for many day-traders.

Finally, GunBot is compatible with over 20 popular crypto exchanges. If you’re tech-savvy and know how to import public libraries from GitHub, you can use the CCXY plug-in to increase your access to over 100 crypto exchanges.

Advantages

  • Supports JavaScript coding.
  • Compatible with over 100 exchanges.
  • 15 premade bots available.
  • Strong users community and active Telegram channel.
  • TradingView and Telegram alerts supported.

Disadvantages

  • Difficult to use.
  • TradingView integration is an add on.
  • Expensive.
  • No options trading available.
  • No free trial.

My Favorite Crypto Trading Bot

Of all the automated trading tools I’ve used, CryptoHopper is my favorite.

The reason?

Besides being affordable and easy to use, it’s suitable for all experience and skill levels. Whether you’re an advanced trader looking to design their own trading strategies, or a beginning user looking for ready-made bots, CryptoHopper has something for everyone.

If you’d like to try out CryptoHopper, I’d go with the one month Explorer plan. Although it won’t give you access to all the tools the platform offers, it’ll give you a good idea of what it can offer you.
